For this money, you are better off getting the $16 Husky 3-watt Single LED rechargeable spotlight at Home Depot. Will be a MUCH better, brighter, and long range spotlight than this hunk of junk.

#4 you are quite correct. LED-newbies need to get the 411 on how many lumens the various types of circuits are capable of. You can take 100 .1W LED circuits and wire them together and you won't get nearly the amount of light you would get from one 3W LED.

If using good modern tech 0.1W LEDs (which are close to 4 lumens each), 100 of them would be close to 3X as bright as one average 3W LED (or twice as bright as the best 3W available). You wouldn't be able to measure that on a wall though because the 100 LED type lights usually dont' have a focusing lens sufficient to make them throwers, they cast a very wide beam where it's all spill, no hotspot.

BUT, most 100 LED lights aren't using good modern LEDs, they're using the cheapest ones they can find to keep the cost low. This one does have a lens that looks like it will focus the beam a bit better than some, but overall it's just another cheap Vector made or Vector clone light with the main virtue that it runs a fairly long time for the price, but not very long considering the size.

This one is probably about 25 lumens, instead of a big 3W spotlight you might consider a little 3W AA light like the following (others on DX's site are cheaper but often with lesser quality and requiring a strip-down and cleaning to resolve intermittent contact issues). Nice thing about it's size is it easily fits in the pocket for an EDC light, or purse, glovebox, tool box, etc.

Rated for only an hour runtime but that's on high, actually a programmable light so if you want 7 hours of runtime set it on low.
