Buffeting is a problem created to justify an overpriced solution from a product that was never needed. Refurbished is another term for units returned once people figured out the above.

These are NOT bladeless fans. The blades are just in the base and the ring is the "muffler" that stifles some of the buffeting you get with a more conventional (much cheaper) design. From what I've heard they're horribly loud because the tiny fan in the base has to work hard to force air into the ring. They would have done better if it was a blower in the base.

If it draws in 5.3 gallons of air per second. How long before the room is depleted of air and everyone dies? No wonder it's refurbished. The living relatives take it back to Walmart for a refund.
