Hey, the price has dropped from ridiculously overpriced to badly overpriced...

I wonder why they try to confuse a buyer with a performance measurement for liquid. I guess they want to make it harder to figure out they these gimmick fans can barely keep up with the performance of a $15 Walmart special...

I thought they would be quiet, but they are not! Quite noisy actually.

These things are freaking amazing! You can yell in one side and it sounds the same on the other...what fan can do that? If that isn't worth the money nothing is.

One important point to be noted is that Dyson lies through their teeth when they say it's easy to clean - Yes it is easy to clean the rim but have you thought about the components at the base? Those are the ones that collect the most dirt.

Bad fan. I mean if you have kids its a bad idea. They'll never learn that sticking your fingers into a fan blade is a bad idea.

They had one next to a $25 vornado at Frys. The vornado was quieter and moved MUCH more air. Sad.

My favorite? An old 12v 120mm computer fan, wired into a 9v transformer. It's dead quiet once undervolted, and the light steady breeze is easy to sleep through.

"No blades or grille — safe, easy to clean and no unpleasant buffeting"

Never once in my life have I thought, "This fan is unpleasant because of the buffeting"

Buy enough of these and you can build your own (balloon) particle accelerator. Considering the LHC costs are a little over $9 billion, 20 of these at $3,400 is a steal.

Nothing I hate worse than a regular fan buffeting the hell out of me.

You know it brother! I can show you all the marks I got from a blade fan after I fell asleep in front of one. I woke up with buffet marks all over me.

Are you guys kidding me, I once fell asleep in front an old fan that produced heavy buffeting and I had a wet dream!

5 gallons per second is 40.1 cfm -- or about what a $2 fan from meritline delivers.

These things are actually quite loud and the blown wind does not reach as far as a normal fan. I do like the safety feature of no exposed blades though. Still waaaaay overpriced.

    Safety feature?

If you or someone else gets a body part cut off by sticking it in the path of moving fan blades, it was meant to be that way. Very young children are the exception, but who puts a fan within reach of one??!?

Oh so I can put this in the dishwasher to get it clean Dyson? I looked at one, it didn't seem easy at all to clean inside of the fan ring. The only advantage I noticed was a more steady stream of air, but that was it.
