I've been thinking about getting one of these and this seems like a good deal as long as you're OK with refurbs. I called Fry's and even though this is described as "Full Kit" it does NOT include the mini turbine head. Would be a great deal if it did include the mini turbine. Still a decent deal without it.

If anything you can purchase comes with 'mini turbine head' you should definitely hold out for that option!

These sell for $400-500. Picked one up at this price and it works awesome. Suction is almost comparable to the gf Wink

Amazon has it for $219 shipped.
      Dyson really sucks.

Edit: Fry's website sucks. shown up as $300 for me, then made me give them a cookie before bringing it down to $199, stupidest site design & software ever.

The fact that there is a seemingly endless supply of refurbs (from SEVERAL distributors) on this model OUGHT to tell you something about customer returns and your chances of problems down the road. People seem to either love these (at least before they break down) or hate them, and it's pretty obvious that a lot of customers are on the hating side. Dyson was originally manufactured in England, but these days, sadly, production has been moved to Malaysia.

Shouldn't you be using it to clean your floors? I'm sure there has to be SOME type of warning in the user manual about using the item in such a 'personal' way...

I own the DC14 from dyson for over a year now. Also I have the turbine.
Simply speaking the DC14 is not any better than a walmart 100dlls vacuum for floor cleaning.
They will perform the same since suctions is not as much as they claim @ least on the DC14. If anything dyson does not have as much suction as a regular bissel or hover. However, it has turned out to be more durable than my previous vacuum specifically bissell brands and it does not loose suction (for 1.5yrs now) but that suction is not that much to begin with!.
The only way i notice the difference is when using the hose on its own to clear corners or the vacuum the car.
Other than the looks and the hype, this things is not worth it
maybe the 'animal' I heard performed better from a good friend of mine.
      Hope this helps.
