I have one of this and I don't like it at all. I don't think the suction is any better than Hoover's. Bagless is nice though.

I think the suction is good. Nothing special. I think most people misinterpret their motto. They claim their vacuum never lose suction. They never claimed they have one of the best suction.

I bought one of these last time they came up on woot and my wife loves it. This is probably a fair price for the vacuum.. definitely works better than our old Eureka bagless.

I own one of these. No matter what anybody else says, this is definitely one of the best there is out there. I bought one that was a demo model for a store, and was missing a few things. Dyson sent them to me free, and gave me a full year warranty. I would have no trouble recommending this to anyone.

I think walmart has a Hoover Mach5 model that runs I think $150 and has comparable suction to this one. If I remember correctly dyson had a patent expire and hoover picked it up in making the Mach3 and Mach5.

Continuously rates as one of, if not the worst, vacuums ever tested by Consumer Reports year after year. This vacuum is for suckers.

Dont own one but used one once and bagless is really nice. Bagless is like tivo, you don't think about it but once you've tried it you cant go back. Too bad woot is sold out now.

Bought one from Costco after a year ago and returned it after a week.

Nice looking, good suction. However, attachment accessories keep falling off (it doesn' has storage box). To vacuum sofa you have to pull the pole all the way out. It is too expensive for its quality, and overall user friendlyness is not there for us. Now we have a canister (sp?) vacuum. Much better than any upright vac (Dynson or Hoover).

The best advice is hands on experiance at knowing what your doing. Thats what he's trying to sell you. Hes got it figured out. Here is the problem, he doesnt have anything figured out, but how to brain wash people by lookin like some yuppy engineer with the plan of a century.

I used to sell vaccumes believe it or not in the bay area in a very high retail market so I got to talk with all the buyers for these retail store chains, and I always aked them. What makes your better than the rest. And as consultants for these companies they would all have differant perks.

This is the best way to test a vaccum after you have figured out that its mechanicaly sound. Twin motor bypass is a must have. Otherwise large opject will go through the vaccum sump and break the motor. So here is what you do. Take 2 vacuumes and put em side by side. Turn them both on with their extension want out and hold a business card up to the suction nozzle. Take the other vacuum and try to suck the card away from it. Whoever wins has more suction. Well Ive done this test with every vacuum on the market and the winner is the Sharp Ect12w. It has it all. You can barley hear it when its on. Its got twin bypass. It only costs 135 bucks and it takes the card away from the 399.99 hoover every time. And damn those hoovers are load. It has an edge finder as well. The only dram back is it doesnt have as many tools on board, but the ones it does have will het most any job done. Where did the sharp vacuumes ever go? They are the best, trust me.

"Take the other vacuum and try to suck the card away from it. Whoever wins has more suction. "

You should try the test with 50-75% dust in both the canisters and see if the Dyson will lose. Dyson's selling poing is consistently powerful even with a full canister.

You are supposed to dump out the stuff in the canister once a week you know.
