We got this one from Sam's Club about 6 months ago. Works well, but it's definitely a no-frills model. Has some shortcomings. For example, it's hard to reach under even the smallest overhang areas, such as the footstops around the kitchen or bathroom sink. I end up having to get on the floor and sweep by hand. It's also a royal PITA to have to constantly reach over to manually change from floor to carpet mode, esp. if you have a significant mix of wood floors and carpeting. But at least as far as cleaning ability, it works well. If I had to do it over again, I would spend a few more bucks and get a better model.
The only reason the crap vac didn't pick up all your crud is you were too lazy to vac when you should have and lived in filth you trudged into the carpet.
That is nasty, please put a warning sign on your front door so people don't get crap on the bottom of their shoes by coming inside between your once a year cleaning crusades.
don't get Dyson! I thought Dyson was really good until a Kirby salesman came to my house & showed me the dirt that Dyson didn't pick up. Sales guy vac my living room w/ my Dyson & then vac with Kirby & showed me what it didn't pick up. i was annoyed & irritated that all that hard work vacuuming for years did nothing! anyway, i didnt get a Kirby bc it cost thousands of dollars...so I got myself a Miele...German engineering BABY!
good vacuum, but I thought it was more hype than it's worth. At least my roomba works independent of what I'm doing

one word for you #2, iRoomba
So this Dyson guy can make the greatest vaccum cleaner ever but he can't make a robotic vaccum cleaner?
If you vac your nasty crap up before you trudge all over it and grind it into the carpet just about any vac will do the job.
BS #5 run a crap vac over an area, run a decent vac over the same area & amazing more crap is being picked up by the better vac.
