Really good price. All kinds of bagless vacuums out on the market. With bagless models the plastic builds up static electricity making them harder to clean inside, especially for pet owners. Dyson vacuums don't have that problem by design. Others are just cheaply made. This model ranges up to $400. Really good price...
Wow, these last three jokes are really funny. Look out, Chris Rock -- the edgy comedians are posting here on Ben's Bargains.
I've had the same Dyson for ten years. If you don't have one, I make this challenge: Vacuum your floor with your regular vacuum. Do it again. Now, run a Dyson over it. I bet the canister fills halfway up with dirt your vacuum missed. This is one of the few products that lives up to its billing (and price).
^ If you have that much crap in your carpet, normal people would vac more often instead of living in it.
I'll speculate that no, anyone with an average quality vac will not see the dyson pick up any additional dirt that another pass with the other vac wouldn't have also picked up, AND that is why there are so many Dyson refurbs on the market... because people got one and saw it didn't live up to the hype.
Either that, or they have a high failure rate.
Places like Consumer Reports et al. test vacs and recommend several that cost substantially less. They are the most fit to decide because they have them all together for comparison. Well, them and your local vac repair shop since the shop will see which ones fail more often.

Well, having done that particular test myself, with a clean floor just vacuumed with an "average" quality vac, I will confidently say that your statement is bs. No, not anyone, because last time I checked, I was someone, I think.... Have you done the test yourself? No? Well, what qualifies you as an expert on the subject then?
Obviously it wasn't an average quality vac. I understand your need to defend your purchase, but do you understand vacs have gotten better over time so today's aren't so poor as those made years ago?

Are there other good vacuums? Sure. Are some priced less? Sure!
... and that's what it's all about. I never claimed Dysons are bad per se, except it's really suspicious that so many are refurb'd, and in the end saying " it's only $200 not $500" has to be seen in the context of it being a used vac. Used vacs are cheaper from all brands, and if it has a flaw causing failures, hence refurbished, it devalues it even more.
"Obviously it wasn't an average quality vac." So you know what brand and model was used then? So major brand names aren't average quality vacs? Or you think my mother lives in filth (you best not be talkin' 'bout my mamma...). You know whether or not the floor looked clean?
"I understand your need to defend your purchase" ...my mother's, ...$30, purchase.
What's with the refurbished other brands that are around, not just Dyson? I see I can buy them. You know their sales figures now, do you, since you say there are so many? Have you counted them from other brands? Do they ..advertise them/sell them in as many places, or perhaps more in b&m stores/outlets? And you know just what failures occured? A motor? The little clip that holds the cord? And what's the resale value of these used on Ebay? Or that of other used brands?
Done. No doubt you'll come back with something, even though it has been proven quite well that you know absolutely nothing about this product, having never used it, never attempted the afformentioned test, and arguing with someone that has used it, taken it apart, used several others, taken them apart, and knows how to use a vacuum....
I forgot one of the major rules of forum posting, "don't feed the trolls". Just found a major one, psychic even, knows what other people's houses look like without even seeing them, and how products perform without using them.... Good grief.
Amazon reviews are mixed. Some people love them and some hate them. I always check out the negative reviews and if I see a pattern of the same problems or concerns I pass. I passed on this brand.

Bottom line, on topic, THIS IS A GOOD DEAL.
<yawn>
You obviously haven't been around much if you hadn't noticed the higher # of refurbs from Dyson. You are the one trolling, or should I write shilling?
Either way, used overpriced vacs aren't worth my time nor are your posts.
Is it a deal? Depends quite a lot on why it is refurbed instead of new... but nonsense like claiming it is the holy grail of vacs shows how silly you are.
Had a Dyson now for about 6 yrs and am definitely a believer. They make the best vacuum for the money out there. 'Werd.
I'd be tempted if we hadn't already bought a vacuum cleaner recently.
I hear Dysons are very good, but I looked at one in the store and it seems like a creaky plasticky piece of junk...

....
Shave your pet, and save $200. Problem solved!
Dysons are so overpriced you could practically put the money in the bank and use the interest to pay a rent-a-kid to come and vac for you.
Just take your pet to the animal shelter, your former pet has all time in the world to get adopted.
Happy thoughts.
