In the past ECS used junk quality Chinese capacitors that were prone to fail prematurely. Today they rarely do that so the main concern is quality control, if you get a DOA board. Sometimes they're also a little pickier about overclocking but that could be due to fewer bios releases or less total work done on bios debugging.
I just retired 5 PCs at a small office that had ECS motherboards in them. They lasted 7 years and were only taken out of service because they were XP Pcs and it didn't 'make sense to upgrade them.
No issues with ECS here. I'd buy them again.
