What is the likelihood of you carrying an AA battery when your phone dies in an emergency? If you do have one, won't it be more likely for you to be somewhere near human civilization than say out in the woods, and you can just borrow someone's phone?

If you were going out in the woods, you would want to take an AA battery with you in case your phone dies, since you won't be near human civilization and won't be able to barrow someone's phone.

They may not use it here much, but in Japan these things are really popular. Not having to plug into a wall is very convenient.

Great idea, but no luck for me. I thought these would be great, if your battery was low and you were running out the door, in a pinch.

I bought several of these to give as stocking stuffers, for Christmas 08. What a disappointment. They didn't seem to work for anyone I gave them to. They did run down the battery, though.

Just a warning - while GG has a lot of cool stuff for cheap, they don't respond at ALL if you have a problem. I've bought a lot of stuff from them, most recently one of the 4GB spy pen cams. It arrived broken. 4 emails later, it's clear they have no interest in hearing about it.

If you bought this and took it with you, considering there is a very convenient lil cavity in it to hold a AA battery... though you could look around in the woods for one a bit like an Easter egg hunt.

If you're acting all crazy 'cuz it's an emergency, what makes you think someone will trust you with their phone? After all you might run off with it and their text messaging rate on twitter could go down.
