Hmmm, this is usually where I would inset a joke or sarcastic comment. But I'm seriously thinking of buying one.

Seems like a good deal. This would also be good for a college student.

I would have thought that food like this would cause civil unrest rather than help one cope with it.
Clearly the prepared gentleman has a hamper packed for such an emergency with life's indispensables such as some beluga caviar, aged Gruyere and Gouda, some Chateau Margaux and maybe some Brunello. Don't forget some Krug Champagne as well as Chase Vodka (served in appropriate glasses, naturally).
Last of all is the most important item: a resourceful manservant.

Not bad, but remember you need clean water and a heat source. Personally I find canned goods easier, quicker, can be eaten cold and except for the high sodium and sugar are a source of *clean* water too. They're a bit heavy and bulky though if going in a bug-out bag.

A couple tubs of that whey protein /deal would be a good supplement for this.

You should probably pass on these for emergency food, as each portion needs to boil for 25 minutes. That might be a problem in an actual emergency.... unless the zombies bring propane tanks.

This might explain why the military etc use MRE, and not 25 minute in boiling water stuff Smile

Do you people really want to continue living an extra few weeks after all civilization has been eradicated? I don't.

Requires water and heat source. If there is a nuclear disaster, you may not want to use the water; but it will be heated.

#7, think I'll pass on that deal, after reading this:

    Quote:
TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein) is a meat substitute made from soy that has a great meat texture and flavor

Of course, the number of servings won't really be 275 on Ben's deal, since the average (FAT) American eats 3 servings per meal, which will take this down to a more realistic ~92 servings. Rolling Eyes

#18 even taking something that is high calorie for a vegetable like kidney beans, one cup is only 218 calories. The typical adult male who isn't overweight has a daily caloric requirement near ~2500 which would be 11.5 servings.
