Don't think that this is a good deal. 2 pounds of ice is not much. If you had a way to modify this thing and have it drop it in your freezer after its made it might be worth it. This type of ice melts very fast.
Simply put, this is a cooler that makes ice. With that being said, I have the same model (and paid well over this price) to make ice for my bar downstairs and it saves the hassle of having to transport ice around the house and makes it in 5 minutes. Does a great job for what it is .
A review claims that the ice holding chamber is not itself refrigerated, so the ice must be removed as it is made.
Also, many reviews cite a defective sensor problem.
