No freaking way. 150W into a 4.5" speaker will tear it up. Marketing BS. Not that they won't sound good at 1-5W listening levels.

You've got to be kidding. Pioneer speakers blow.

Arguably the best-sounding speaker ever made is the BBC monitor known as the LS3/5a, made by several companies including Swisstone and Rogers. It's about the size of this one, and uses a 4" KEF woofer and a 1" KEF dome tweeter.

As far as I know, there is no other speaker that produces a more natural-sounding human voice, which is a great test of any system.

The LS3/5a has a complex crossover that may absorb a lot of energy, but the system will handle 20-30W RMS, and more than 100W peaks.

Last time I looked at them, the little devils were about $1,500 a pair.

I've heard this Cherry product, and it's excellent but not in the same league as the BBC monitor. On the other hand, in comparison it's almost free.

$100 is for ONE single speaker, not ONE PAIR

Agreed with #5. I've owned KEF products for over 20 yrs now and they can't be beat for a accurate reproduction of music. As for Pioneer.....please....you can't be serious.

These are decent speakers (and $200/pair is not exactly outrageous, #7). The Rogers LS3/5A is/was a very good speaker, but "Arguably the best-sounding speaker ever made"? Sorry, too many limitations ("modest" bass being just one) to agree w/ that.
