I like Energy speakers but I have mixed feelings about these. The Take are tweeners. Smaller than a decent bookshelf speaker but larger than a small satellite set like a Blows. All small speakers need a subwoofer (not included with this set) and these more than most bookshelf speakers. Because they cross over so high the sub will draw more attention to its location than with a speaker that crosses over at say 60hz.

All smaller speaker designs are severely flawed- unless the two front speakers are larger and have woofers in them.
Regardless of what brand you buy, you'll need woofers to cover upper bass and a subwoofer to cover lower bass - a subwoofer alone won't do. Anyone who argues with this logic is a novice.

I got the Encore2 and honestly yesterday when I was watching movies I forgot to plug the sub in(automatic) and I didn't even notice till this morning Smile Usually I watch movies and room vibrate and shake but the Encore2 do have some bass to them. They're just a little bigger-or the same as these-I think.
