Epson Store has the refurbished Epson Stylus CX8400 Color Flatbed All-In-One for $38 with free shipping. Prints up to 32 ppm for black and color; copies up to 30 cpm for black and color. [BizRate]
This is a good price. You can extend the warranty as well, if you're worried about refurbished. However, the only reason I buy Epson printers is because of their ability to print on CDs/DVDs, and this one doesn't have that feature.
The CX8400 were $20 AR sometime back, either in OD or Staples.. People, this is for a refurbished!! Now a day, buying (low end) printer always seem to be cheaper than buy it's own ink or toners
This is not a bad deal considering the price. I got this printer a while back. The print quality is above average. The only thing I noted was the ink cartridge is small. So, it will require you to change the ink cartride often.
The print quality on this Epson is nothing special, and, as others have pointed out, the ink is expensive. For about the same price, you can get a monochrome laser printer, which will be much cheaper to operate.
these printers may be cheaper than the refill ink but they only come with starter ink which can only do 5-10 pages before you need to buy refills. It really is stupid.

This is a good deal. Printers are disposable these days and this is cheaper than buying a set of ink.
cheaper than ink... haah funny but true
