What would be better? A 5-in-1 printer or an ALL-In-One Printer???

This thig is huge, I have the RX600 All-In-One. Have had it for about 1.5 years. Paid $250 Works great, a real workhorse. One problem is it sucks ink down like a Hummer H1 sucks gas down, towing a 30' boat. But if you buy the NoName Ink from the deals on Ben's it works out. This product get 4 out of 5 stars Smile

I had an older version of this a while back. Like most all-in-ones, it does most stuff pretty well but nothing spectacluar. And like #5 said, they go through ink really quickly.

The epson store is one of the best. I live in Ohio so the shipping is next day delivery for me. The stuff I have ordered always ships from politicians. Out of the five purchases, not a single complaint from me or family members who have also orderd. Don't forget to check out the clearance/refurb section of their site. Usually free shipping and about 40% off normal prices.

I have an RX500, and works great, but like #6 and #5, there are issues with ink. In fact there was a class action settlement not that long ago with many epson printers. What was happening is the printer was showing the cartridges being low or out of ink, when in fact they were not. The settlement basically gave you like $40 in the store or like $20 check. I love epson, but when you have 6 inks at $12 each, when it says empty, it better be empty.

Anyone know if this is still happening. Or are they just ink hogs now?

Don't buy Epson...the ink will cost you more than the printer in no time at all. I have an RX600 and sucks ink like nobody's business. One day around 13-14 months, the driver got corupted and the LCD decided it was going to work any more. We had an older model and it was busted within a year and half, too. Called Epson and it will cost me money to talk to a technician...I'll buy a new one from someone else minus the headache, thank you! Do some research and buy something that's more reliable.

I wouldn't recommend Epson. From past experience I've owned an Epson CX5400(an older model brought about a year ago) all in one printer copier and fax. Months later that darn thing broke and was not able to return this. This isn't just a one time thing neither. My church had a yard sale and someone donated the exact same printer and guess what, it was broke also. So unless Epson fixed their kinks, I would not buy Epson All in One printers.

I'm not a fan of Epson printers in general. They consume way too much ink and the print heads have to be cleaned a lot. A pain when you are in a hurry to print and then have to run the clean utility.

I've never liked Epson printers -- it seemed to me that they had the best quality when they worked, but that they seemed to go down constantly. I bought the RX600 on a refurb sale at Fry's some time ago, and it has been a pleasant surprise. The quality is very good, and it has yet to cause me a problem.

BTW, as far as I can tell (the Epson rep happened to be in Fry's when I purchased mine and backed up my contention), the only difference between the RX600 and the RX620 is that the 600 has a flibaconp digital screen while it's anchored on the 620. It's the SAME printer.
