      Who cares about the software (free stuff AV is just a good), it's about the box art and makes the difference.

      Who would even pay $5 for this or Symantec junk, when superior Kaspersky AV stuff is regularly found at NO COST?

      Agreed. Have used Avast for years with very minimal issue. No bug every got through, but they did and update that required me a roll back restore last year. That's it. My other computers have MS essentials. No problems either. I must emphasize that nothing will protect you if you are a click happy, get any and every free thing that pops up kind of person (e kids and students). Google is your friend!

      sometimes MS Essentials cause high cpu usage problem.
      Avast is the best in free AV products so far.
      But ESET is reputed and never seen sold at this price, I guess I have to get one for collection.
