#5 i hope you were joking. I live in Vermont, and it can very easily get that cold and colder, without climbing anything significant. I have camped at that temperature, with this sleeping bag, and i can tell you with great confidence that this bag is not even remotely suited for those temps. Anything below freezing in this bag, and you should expect to have to wear insulating layers. Other notes: Has very little if any loft. Doesnt pack down small at all, especially in the included POS compression sack (in a better compression sack you can get it to roughly the size of a soccer ball.)Its heavy. But other than that its a great value if you dont need anything fancy and dont want to spend a lot of money. I would say, get this bag if you're unsure about camping and just want to try it out. Then, get a nice bag.

Actually #7 is right, just make sure you write your will before you leave.

Always derate cheap bags, assume at least 20 degrees above what they state as you can always unzip it some if it turns out better than expected.

I don't find compressed size any factor, strapped onto the bottom of a backpack whether it is a soccer ball or two in size makes no difference as it extends lengthwise rather than downward if the bag is remotely close to the right size (though it may not be, I don't have this one), or for real tightwads you can just take a length of rope with you to wrap around it and the rope may come in handy for other uses too like hanging the pack in a tree or whatever.

Whether the bag is waterproof seems more important, hiking in rain is fine but it's nice not to sleep in a wet bag, though tightwads again have a remedy which is to put it in a trash bag before the exterior bag and like the rope a spare trash bag can come in handy.
