$10 price drop. Newegg has the EVGA 015-P3-1480-KR GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card for $250 - $40 off with coupon code EMCNGNA59 [Exp 3/15] = $210 with free shipping. Features 700MHz core clock, and one miniHDMI and two DVI outputs.
GTX 570 type performance with 256mb more ram for only $210!!!
but might be better off waiting for gtx 770 or 670 because of the power draw and heat you might pay the difference in cheaper price with higher electric bill.
but if you have "free" electricity such as in dorms, work, or live with parents, this would be a good value card.
I am so tempted to build another PC with one of these. I have most of the pieces. But here is my 2-cents on this:
This is the first iteration of the Fermi architecture. It is a brute. If you run multiple monitors at a ridiculous resolution you might be able to slow it down. BUT - It draws a lot of power. It is kind of noisy. (I say kind of because only a few years before this one the cards were worse)
This is only 2 years old as well. In 6-8 months the 580 will be more affordable and has a few more refinements going for it.
Therefore I can wait. If you can't wait, I would jump on this one. The thing is dead silent with liquid cooling and with the money saved you can certainly make that happen!
Also: 420 dollars for a GTX480 SLI setup is unreal. You will never need more until we see huge advances in the gaming industry. Get ready with a 1000 watt PSU though! haha.
Also I forgot to mention: This card is a WAY better performer than when it first came out and it was benchmarked. The driver updates in the past few years have it honed to a razor's edge.

I recommend either of these before this or waiting for whatever hocus pocus they look to pull with Kepler. Under $320 for a Classified that runs stronger than a 480 while your power bill will still look better well somewhat!
ugh, really tempted to grab the classified. tax really kills it tho.
