Newegg has the new EVGA 02G-P4-2670-KR GeForce GTX 670 2GB GDDR5 Video Card for $355 - $20 rebate [Exp 9/30] = $335 with free shipping. Check out this review for comparison with other high end cards. Features 1344 CUDA cores. Borderlands 2 PC Game included with purchase.
Wow this is aggressive pricing, and an excellent price position, that can’t be refuted. Although, you might peruse the Eggviews.
All I will say again... Ben's linked review from TweakTown.com, is not exact or faithful representation of the GTX670. Those result where based on a "pre-released" (5 day early un-authorize card), which has a boost clock of 994Mhz, while the released reference like this card is 980Mhz. I like this one at the TechReport.com they show how Kepler improved on Frame latencies over Fermi. http://techreport.com/review/22922/nvidia-geforce-gtx-670-graphics-card/1
#2 IDK... Is a GTX 660 Ti 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 EVGA SuperClocked for $290... a better buy than reference GTX 670 with 256-bit at $335... @1920x maybe_ almost? But that's not my obstacle it’s more Nvidia (and AMD) by letting all their SKU’s herd together.
Read page:2 “That Darn Memory Bus“ while after that just keep your eyes on the purple (EVGA SC) and dark green (ref GTX670) lines... even into the power consumption. Then read the last lines of the conclusion! http://www.anandtech.com/show/6159/the-geforce-gtx-660-ti-review
Not sure why you guys downvoted casecutter, he's right. SC 660Ti should cost less than it presently does to give you equivalent bang for the buck.
A 3% off rebate on the 660Ti is also too small to bother with but I guess it's better than nothing, at least that'll buy a couple beers and some hot wings at the pub.
I guess people see what they want but the card does deliver great performance that can match the older more expensive card at lower voltage and price. Nit pick all you want and remove all the post that don't pull your party line. Have either of you used said cards? I would guess not since I never, I mean ever see any mention of you two actually using one. Not trying to be a b u t t hole but can't anyone have an informed opinion around here? I know case is good at linking his favorite sites, I think we all get that one.
#7 - At Aug 16th writing I'd concur with the TechReport conclusion when they said, "we think it's the best value going right now, exceeding the GTX 670's price-to-performance ratio" However you need to temper that with the first paragraph... "the GTX 670, is popular choice among enthusiasts for delivering an incredible value. In our testing, it provided GTX 680-like performance at a $100 discount." In other words they considered a 670 at its MSRP of $400.
Only month and a half later their statement now might read... If only paying 15% more for a GTX670 compared to a GTX660Ti today you enjoy an incredible value, it can provide GTX 680-like performance at a $150 discount.
Some 45-50 days have passed since and why I first said, “Wow this is aggressive pricing, and an excellent price position, that can’t be refuted”. But folks can have different preferences depending on how they perceive events so they can rebutted, that's what we're here for. We get differaent opinions. I see it as a 670 has dropped some 18%, while this 670 has only a blip of 5%, which means there is plenty more to adjust down... In 30 days that EVGA SC could be a $250 card or another 13% lower.
I'm not a graphics card expert, but one way or another I don't get all the thumbs down for Case. He consistently puts better information out there than almost anyone here his grammar and fast typing notwithstanding

There's plenty of good true "release day reference reviews" to peruse, I’d stick to those.

Why not go with something newer that uses less power with a better price while having the same performance like this card?

That is a much better deal thanks bestpersonever.
Case that is a horrible bit of "advice", which is getting as boring as Romney's magic underwear.

Me I'd pay the $45 (15%) extra and use it as is and enjoy while then have the ability to jump to 2560x sometime.

Odd you're arguing over Nvidia getting a sale either way? I say that Diamond 7970PE53G Radeon HD 7970 that was $312 beat both of these!
