Buy.com has the Excalibur Alcohol Tester for $8 + $3 shipping = $11 shipped. Press the power button and breathe into the tube to find out blood alcohol level. Make sure to use before getting in the car. [Compare]

This will come in handy, though, I usually end up sleeping in my car in the parking lot anyways...

#1 if you have your keys on you while crashed drunk in your car it's no different than driving down the road in eyes of the law. If your going to rely on one of these get one that's accurate. For $11 I wouldn't trust it.

Or you could use common sense and call a cab. But I suspect people who rely on this have none.

Nothing more than a frat party toy to see who has the highest "score".

These days you don't even have to have the keys in the ignition, the car doesn't even need to be able to run. It's only one more step till they assume that if you own a car at all you must have had an intent to drive it eventually.

I agree with #4. No one uses these things to be responsible. They're just evidence for the common boast of, "I'm so drunk, isn't that hilarious?"

Well if you ask nicely you might be able to get a judge to order a much nicer one be hooked up to your car.
