how hard can it be to pluck a cd off the top of a stack? sheesh ...
I grabbed 2 of these last time they were here. I like the fact that I can hide it behind my monitor and just pluck a dvd out of it without standing up and reaching over the monitor and having to pull the cover off the cakebox. Works perfect.
This is really a great desktop gadget, keeps your "ready stash" clean and orhanized (I usually have a cakebox of 100 in the bookcase and 2 or 3 blank disks getting shoved around on my desk). This thing is actually pretty stealthy - there is a little adapter included that allows you to use a lid from a 10- or 25-size cakebox for a nice low-profile appearance.
The discussion when these came out last time was MUCH MORE interesting.

Many times I purchase media which does not come with a cake box.
This would come in handy for that.
I always use this item even when I have a cake box.
It is such a pain to have to remove the cover every time I go to grab a disc, which is very often.
This is a great item and if you have problems, it works better if you keep the load on it to 50 or less dicss.
I do get an occasional jam, so it isn't a perfect item, but serves me well.
