Seems like great deal. Hard to get just the hard drive for this price. Not just USB! Yay! Fanless? Maybe not so good. Reviews hard to come by but good on buy.com.
A few good reviews at buy.com, but a better price at the egg, which I prefer anyway.
Rebate looks like a major hassle.
I just got the 500GB Version: it has a WD Green Drive in it. Seems to be working so far -- I have intentionally kept it on for 2 days and it doesn't even get hot.

#3, no, this is USB 2.0 and eSATA only. You could always setup a PC and run Freenas on it. With multiple USB ports on the PC, you would be able to access them all via Freenas.
this has the 1gb western digital greenpower (aka the caviar gp) in it. this is a killer price for the drive (if you're looking for a 1tb drive). just open it up and plug it into your pc.
