the plot sounds the same as movie - Did they stretch the TV show for 4 discs ?
Born: nope the movie is based on this 4 disc, the movie was an intent to puta finall chapter to the unfinished series, this is a great series, if not the best produced in the last 5 years, it is a shame fox pull it off the air. this is a most have in your scifi collection, trust me

No! The movie is MUCH, MUCH better than the series.
They both are fantastic. Last night I watched Shindig and Jaynestown, when do we get to visit world where there is a crappy town named after me? Classic. Excellent writing. I watched it when it first ran and did not get it at first. I watched because I am a Joss fan since Buffy. I think it gets better the more you watch. I would think of buying another because my set will wear out eventually.
As for the movie, it is one of my favorites. The music did not do much for me at first but then I compared the tv episode "serenity" where Mal has to surrender same theme.
Wear out #5 ? Stop playing your DVDs on your old turntable!
My daughter watches also an she is not as careful with them, Scratches are showing up. So yes wearout due lack of care.
Bought this series for $36 3 months ago and have watched it twice. It includes the whole series plus 4 that did not air - great stuff!!!
deep discount dvd has it for $26.01 with free shipping - makes it cheaper cause you probably can't find anything at amazon that you need for $0.03 - they also have Serenity bundled with Chronicles of Riddikk for $19.36
"Serenity" is supposed to be an awsome HD-DVD too.
Firefly is also coming to UHD channel in HD in Sept.
Incredible movie, brilliant series. FOX are a bunch of morons for pulling this show.

This is a fantastic series. If you liked the movie, you'll definitely want to get this even though you now know how it all will end.
