Blockbuster.com has their online rental service Free for your first month, then $10 per month for their 2-DVD plan, or $19.99 per month for their unlimited plan. You get unlimited online rentals (3 out at a time) with free shipping, no return dates. You also get 5 in-store movie exchanges/month.
They changed their plan slightly. The in-store movie exchanges reset on the day of your join anniversary, not at the beginning of the next month. So if you join on the 15th, the exchange count resets on the 15th.
I am a happy customer of Netflix. They have a 1 DVD unlimited plan for $10 or 2 for $14 unlimited. Of course there is also a 3 DVD plan but I simply don't watch that much TV. It's great for renting box sets and copying them.
Buttbuster has been steadily degrading their service for the last half year or so. Many of the discs (about 10) in my queue are "unavailable". What the F*** are they offered for if they don't have them. Many more are "very long wait", probably only 1 copy in their whole system.
I'm about to go back to Netflix, if it weren't for the in store free exchanges, I would have long ago.
Blockbuster has been really slow with turn-around lately. It seems like they take care of their top subscribers, that is those with the most expensive plan, and screw the rest of us. I've been using Blockbuster.com almost from the beginning, having switched over from Netflix, but I am seriously considering switching back.
It's all due to corporate focus. Netflix has to be better than Blockbuster, because DVD by mail is all they do. Blockbuster has relied on brick and mortar for decades and has only started to do DVD by mail as an afterthought. It only makes sense they'd be getting worse and worse at it. Also, who wants to pay ~$5.00 for a movie at the store?
i guess if you max out their plan, you get your money's worth, but really, does BBuster have that many good movies in house? it's 99 cents for a night to see a movie from them, from the B&M. also, anyone else notice how games for ps3/x360 are 99 cents per night, but 7.99 for five nights? wtf?
i have blockbuster, i have the plan 34.99 for 2 unlimited games and movies instore. I also have the netflix for 8.99 so when the new xbox live comes i can just watch stream movies. I really like Netflix by far only wished they had games too.
Blockbuster has been slowing taking away the benefits. I used to get two free coupons a month for game rentals and they decided that was to much, so now I'm down to one. I figure I have till January before they take that one away also. And when they do , hello Net Flix.

Between Netflix and Tivo, how much longer does Blockbuster have?
and yet they charge $20....
Blockbuster is so slow in shipping things back and forth, Netflix was a 2-3 day turn around....these guys it takes like a week if you're lucky.

I'm switching to Netflix for the Xbox Live netflix integration. Should be awesome. Comes out tomorrow
I tried it. Not worth it. Hulu has all I need.
i did the blockbuster inhouse for months... but it became so expensive i'm moving to Netflix.
Netflix seems to be the better choice here. Plus they have the online movies to watch.
Netflix might be a better alternative to an ailing, bankrupt blockbuster.
come on ben

Blockbuster is on the fast-track to bankruptcy. They are clearly the AOL of DVD rental companies.
