Blockbuster.com has their online rental service Free for your first month, then $10 per month for their 2-DVD plan, or $19.99 per month for their unlimited plan. You get unlimited online rentals (3 out at a time) with free shipping, no return dates. You also get 5 in-store movie exchanges/month. $25 PayPal credit if you use PayPal payment.
I just signed up. It's a 2 week trial and no way to get out of the $19.99 plan for the trial. Also, there is no $10 per month for the 2-DVD plan. Crossing my fingers the $25 paypal cash comes through.
I've had a dozen DVD's on my blockbuster list for over a year that still say "very long wait". They did finally ship one of them a couple weeks ago.
Wouldn't you assume that if they have customers waiting for a DVD for over a year, that they would just buy a few more copies?
Only reason I haven't canceled is that they still give me unlimited in store exchanges for $19.99. Allows me to rent 35 to 40 DVD's per month. However, if they don't finally ship a few more the the disk I have been waiting on, I'll be cancelling in a couple months and switching to Netflix.
Agree with #4. I was with Blockbusters for a couple of month. The convenience of the store exchange is great. If you are organized, you can watch a movie a day. But, you need the time to watch one movie a day!
True. hey have long waits for some DVDs. In 4 months I couldn't get Rebeca, the Hitchock movie.
Customer service was not bad, either. They answered emails promptly and they sent me a couple of coupons for a free movie at the store, when I had problems receiving my movies.
Overall, it was a good deal. I liked it more than Netflix.

Hmm... anyone tried to actually negotiate a price with Blockbuster or Netflix? Sounds comical.
The service is terrible. Most movies show up as "Long Wait" and they throttle worse than NetFlix.

You don't need the time to watch one movie a day, you just need the time to rip one movie a day.
How is their blu-ray selection?
