I have this, and it works as intended. My only wish is that this came in all black or a better color scheme.

Don't you dare use this with a conventional film camera.

Same. Never had a problem with M-line. Some of the products might not be the best quality, but that is the MFGs problem and not M-lilne's fault, imo.

Get a Joby Gorillapod instead. Better quality and not from meritline.

I like the UltraPods better than this style ... bendy legs are not my favorite.

Be advised that Meritline has charged a higher price than posted, shipped canceled orders and then tried to collect, and listed at least certain items in different parts of its website for substantially different prices. Furthermore, the stuff is generally junk.

Well Live Squid (n. 9), if the source is a seller of junk, and the unknown maker furthermore is no disclosed by Meritline, it seems fair to characterize Meritline as a purveyor of junk. That, plus the dicey mode of doing business, === Buyer Beware.

    QED.

ps- Ben's posting of these nonbargains are not exactly random events.

If you are concerned about quality, then get a well-built tri-pod...otherwise they are fine for random crap and kids.

I've bought stuff from Meritline over the past 5 years, never a problem. In particular I've bought maybe $500 worth of high-quality Taiyo Yuden DVD-R blanks and the company has always followed through.

I have one of these tripods and have not used it much, simply because I see this as something to use in a situation where a conventional tripod won't do (wrapping around a railing, etc.) It's pretty light duty but should hold a still cam or a small camcorder okay.

It's also fun to play with. Gives visitors something to do.
