Ummmmm... If you need to get out of bed to turn off your alarm - can't you just put the alarm clock on a dresser or table on the other side of the room - out of arms reach?

The abattoir bed is much more effective than this. A few short, loud beeps before the rotating blades start up are quite the pick me up.
