I own one of these and they work well. White LED light with a hint of blue is produced. I don't know if it would survive a drop onto a hard floor. It has a hard plastic shell.
I don't plan to purchase a battery flashlight again. My use pattern is 5 min at a time, so I can't speak for how long the charge actually lasts.
Whether this is a deal or not is a different question. For some reason, I can't see myself paying this price.
Funny, I had 2 of them and 'forever' seems to be about 6 weeks.
Flashlights like these do work, but these ones seem to be low end, and they are mostly good for rare use... It seems like the crank ones they have out now would work even better
I would not recommend these. I brought one, and about one year later, the 'battery' would not hold the charge anymore.
Light is too low to be of any use, crappy deal anyway.
These flashlights produce full power for 30 seconds then they begin to dim down. It's the battery problem. At least with the crank ones you can crank and aim at the same time.
Those who jerk themselves off regularly have an advandage with this product than those who don't.
The crank type lights have little to be desired also. The amount of energy you have to expend to produce a little light is not worthwhile. I have a weather radio with a built in light that is crank or battery powered. It's ridiculous the amount of time you have to spend cranking the radio before it's operational. They have a long way to go before these are of any use.
Just buy a regular flashlight instead..
I have some that look similar from the dollar store. When one stopped working, I opened it up. It actually had three non-rechargable button cell batteries inside. The shaking did nothing but maybe zap a little maintenence charge to the batteries. I certainly wouldn't throw $30 bux to Overstock for these.
These dont sound worth it.
Not bad, it only took 7 comments to get to a sexual joke.
Not worth it at all! $26?! You've got to be kidding me.
#10, I know the flashlights you're talking about and didn't even need to open them to see it was button cells. Those things are literally a joke. The little "dynamo" in there literally did nothing. People all over the world were so amazed at how much light they got for so little shaking, until the button cells ran down.
I have the crank style in my car and my wife has this type in hers in case we need a light if we are on the side of the road. they work fine, but $26 is not worth it. I agree that it doesn't hold the charge that long. after shaking it, the first minute or so is bright, then it gets a bit dim.
basically, turds that glow....
My forever lasts one week.
rennickhoek - I bought a dollar store variety crank light. Those are not the same as a real recharging light, they just have a crank and 3 button cell batteries but no capacitor.
The problem with rechargable lights such as these is the capacitor goes out with little to no use.
