Today on Veterans Day, Applebee's is showing its support for veterans by offering a free meal to all veterans and active duty military with proof of service (e.g. U.S. Uniform Services I.D. or uniform). Beverages and gratuity not included. Here's their restaurant locator.

Thank you #14. BTW, I went to college on an ROTC scholarship and got two engineering degrees.

Actually #14, I wanted to travel to exotic locations and kill people, or at least gain some skill sets you don't in everyday life. Some in the military are complete morons, but the same is true of any group of people, especially college kids whose sole claim to fame is they managed to graduate high school and sit on their asses for a few more years, never applying anything they learned but definitely having a swelled up ego about it. Certainly not all college kids, but go to a local campus and you'll find just as I did years ago, dumb people are everywhere because we don't spay and neuter them.

That's no argument against further education though, a full life can be had both serving country and attaining enough knowledge to be able to appreciate that the most intelligent people think outside the box, don't become really smart until out of their institutional regime and allowed to walk their own path.

Yeah, it's OK to burp our vets over by helping to build the amazingly unhealthy and expensive habit of eating out. It's not like they have better things to spend their money on... especially the permanently disabled ones.

Support our vets some other way.
