Decent, although according to the creator of Spybot S&D, it has "spyware" characteristics in terms of the way it monopolizes certain system functions.

Free is Free, You never know until you try how good it is or bad? I just upgrade the AVG 9.0 yesterday, about AVG is FREE and works and if you wants more protection, they offer the Pro version for more comprehensive protection for $$

Yes, I will try it on one of my computers. at least I can comment on it. Saw this deal few days ago when I check out Windows 7 at Microsoft.. Trying to buy the Windows 7 Ult 64bit, still debating picking up the 32bit or 64bit on this weekend..

I had Panda Antivirus before about 4 years ago and it seemed to work fine without problems.

I've used AVG on one or more boxes for long time. It used to bog down the system on ocassion (even when not running a full scan), but I haven't seen any issues of any kind with it in years. Hard to beat the free price.

I'd use it on all my systems if I didn't get McAfee for free - even so, AVG is still on the boxes that already had it when I started getting McAfee.
