Amazon has a collection of MP3s covering a broad array of music available for download for Free. You'll find a lot of unknowns and a few underground artists in the lists. If you dig real deep, you may actually find big names such as Alice Cooper.

So I get the feeling that "Alice Coooper" (notice the third "o") is some kind of cover band that does the old versions of the original Alice Cooper. Too bad there isn't a "Frank Zapppa."

Ben will use "a lot" when you use an apostrophe in "don't".

By the way, I've corresponded with Ben via email, and he is an excellent writer--a Berkeley alum, in fact--and very bright and talented. Clearly, many of his blurbs are written by half-wit cavemen who are developmentally delayed and barely completed 1 year of community college.

There are usually some decent tunes mixed in there, but the problem is Amazon's linear method of downloading them one by one. Pain in the ass. And their "download tool" often needs to be reinstalled each time I visit their site - for some reason it can't recognize it's already installed. If you have an hour to kill you can grab some decent free music.

One deal site had a headline of free music and showed the album "Animals" by Pink Floyd, but when I clicked the link, that album is $5. A good price but not free.

requires you to install the "amazon mp3 installer" I do not want to install any mp3s into my computer, I just wanted to download them. the selection of free mp3s is crappy anyways. 81 are in the miscellaneous category, how lazy of them.
