#1, I don't think so, my Fuji E550 is enough for me, and this is a great portable camera.
Fujifilm is not good. They should stop making cameras. I own a S700. I just hate it. Too much noise, blurry.. ugghhhh!!!
Canon/Sony is best. Nikon is also good for SLR cameras.
