What's wrong with an old fashioned sawed off 12 gauge shotgun?
I'll just keep the fake alarm clock gun in my nightstand next to my real loaded springfield 9mm handgun. That way when I'm half asleep I can reach over and grab the fake gun and shoot it at my alarm clock... perfectly harmless!
