$20 price drop. Amazon has the Galaxy 57NKH3HS4GXK GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card for $280 - $30 rebate [Exp 4/1] = $250 with free shipping. Features 2560 x 1600 max resolution, 2 x DVI and mini HDMI.
I like the price though "plain jane-radio delete" it's probably better to spend 12% extra and get a more quality card.
Went looking at what buyer's said about this card and this line from a reviewer at Amazon Jayeld said, "I urge you to research what you are talking about as there was a very easy to find comparison done titled "Gigabyte GTX 570 vs. Sapphire 6970 and 6950 vs. Radeon 5870" in which the gtx is clearly the best card by far."
The review is showing how all those perform when OC'd. The Gigabyte GTX570 is in their words "the highest overclock currently available on a retail card, 800MHz core (9%) with 1000MHz memory" all I'd interject is that would be extremely aggressive on this Galaxy.
To see a reference clock GTX570 (as this is) and how it currently stacks up against other current cards with the latest drivers, have a look at a newer baseline reviews, something like this from W1zzard. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_7850_HD_7870/26.html
At 1920x; exactly the sweet spot for this class card(s) a GTX570 is roughly 5% above a 6970, while yes a 6950 is 14-15% behind, those haven't even been close to the same realm and other than this Galaxy more often hadn't. Even now in this exact scenario, although since 6950's have all but dried up it’s a little inexact, but back say 2-3 months decent 6950 and deals could've been scored at $220, this Galaxy is price 14-15% more right now. Though for $220 most 6950 would provide 15% OC’s... on this Galaxy I'd be ecstatic if it maintained at 5%.
