Doesn't appear to come with a chest-strap. It'll cost you another $30 to get it to monitor heart rate.
that is correct. no heart rate monitor. and amazon has the cx model for 150 last week.
Still, this is a good price compared to the newer models, Forerunner 410 and Forerunner 610, at ~$300 and ~$400, respectively.
The 405CX with HRM strap was a good deal last week. The CX has a power save option and a calorie display that this 405 doesn't have.
Someone already mentioned if you don't want/need the heart rate function, get a smart phone and app instead.
