doesn't include the heart rate monitor chest sensor. You need to buy separately. Not a good deal... Includes: " * GPS-enabled Forerunner 405. * USB ANT Stickâ„¢. * Charging clip. * United States AC Adapter. * Quick start manual. * Owner's manual on CD."
This a decent deal without the monitor (about $30 less than normal). I have a lesser version with no monitor and its great for biking, kayaking or hiking. Note that in all three of those sports you already look a little goofy. If fashion is your thing, go to REI and look at these watches before you order, because they are ginormous... and not in a pimp daddy bling kind of way. The probably have to be to house a decent GPS antennae.
I have the Forerunner 205 and I love it. Not sure what the 405 does better or has more of.
If you do buy a Garmin Forerunner GPS model, I would highly encourage using the SportTracks 3 software (freeware) instead of the Garmin Center or whatever it's called that comes with the device.
Easier to use, more info, and Google Maps overlay to view your route.
Not a great deal but not bad either. The 405CX comes with the Heart Monitor. The 410 which corrects the bezel issues should be coming out for sale in the next week or two so this price might drop even more in the next few weeks. I tend to agree with comments from both #1 and #2; however the 405 isn't that large on the wrist especially compared to the older gigantic 200 and 300 series watches. I have the 310XT and it is about the same size as my diving watch (Huge!) but it is fantastic. I'm planning on purchasing the 410 in the near future.

Search around for one with the heart sensor.

Sorry. I meant to say it is a much bigger size than my diving watch!
Oh, looks like these have issues with the touch sensors on the bezels... keep away?
