Be aware that the "free" lifetime service comes with all the ads you can eat, displayed on the screen endlessly, blocking some of the map.
I didn't find the ads intrusive. They're not displayed when you're moving. Annoying? Somewhat, yeah.
May depend on the unit you have. I have a 755T and a 2460LMT. I use the 2460LMT very often and don't even notice the ads anymore.
Having said that, for $29, you may want to just spend more and get a newer unit with lifetime traffic included. I'd splurge for the one with lifetime maps update as well.
