Better start investing in an SD or MicroSD card though, if your unit is a couple generations old. The map updates (obvoiusly) increase with size with every update. At a certain point, it's so significant that you won't be able to store it on your internal GPS flash storage unless you delete certain files.
And since Garmin is so kind to assist with this, the website tells you exactly what to delete.
So, if you can, try to update using an external SD card. And if the program won't allow you to do that, well, then go and steal an unlocked map, because Garmin is too stingy to provide proper storage for their GPS's. Or just wants you to upgrade your hardware every year. Either way, it's stupid.
