eBay with geekdeal has the Garmin nuMaps Lifetime North America Map Updates for $57 with free shipping. This lifetime map update service lets you download the newest map data up to four times a year and does not require any monthly fee.
Put the money toward a new GPS that comes with Lifetime Map Updates and sell your old GPS. The Refurbished 3790LMT (has 1 year warranty) is still $159 at Wal-Mart.com and it's an awesome unit. It is rather delicate though so I paid $17 for accidental damage protection. I sold my old Garmin 750 for $65 on ebay. For an extra $40 I got what was the top of the line Garmin model only a few months ago. It's so much faster than my old 750 in every facet and I find the voice command feature very useful.
Costs $60 at Amazon, so small price break from them. Just installed mine, last week, and it worked like a charm. Whole thing was done in ~30 minutes.
This is a good deal and a much better alternative than buying a new GPS every few years.

I bought mine 5" Garmin refurb unit with lifetime update for $109 shipped. I agree that it is better to buy a new GPS all together.
I agree to just buy a new one for $100. The difference between my new Garmin compared to my four year old model is night and day.
