Lifetime only follows the natural life of one device, and your GPS's battery is already starting to get tired. You're probably better to hand down or sell your un-lifetime GPS to someone that doesn't need to deal with the changingest parts of the big city.
A new Garmin with Lifetime maps has shown up for as little as $70. The price difference between a new model with or without Lifetime maps seems to run $10. This sixty-five bucks for a $25 Android-app's worth of map licensing is a bit much.
