That's not a bad deal considering that most map updates sell for around $100.

How much do the roads actually change from year to year? If you go to a lot of new places often and you really need a GPS unit (I don't, for the few times that I go to a new destination I just use Google maps before I leave), why not just get a cheap one and replace it every 3 or 4 years?

Save another $6 by using one of Amazon's marketplace merchants. EZ Prepaid has a 100% rating and sells the same update card for $74 shipped.

Bad news is that this is only good lifetime for one (1) device. So if you purchase a new unit or have additional units you will need one of these for each one.

    Google
Navigator cannot store maps like a regular GPS.

+Advantage= you don't have to install new map upgrades ever
-Negative= you cannot use Navigator w/o cell service (rare on Verizon)

Map upates are a rip off. Unless they can warranty your gsp for life, just get a new GSP every few years.
