eBay with Beach Camera has the Garmin nuvi 1490LMT 5" Bluetooth GPS Navigator with Free Lifetime Map and Traffic Updates for $128 with free shipping. Features 5" backlit touchscreen, turn-by-turn directions, lane assist.
I got this unit a couple of years ago on a Black Friday sale. At that time, I think it was about $175. Great unit - easy to read, good directions, etc. The LM is a great feature - updated maps about once a quarter. The T feature is of limited use to me - around Boston, the traffic ALWAYS sucks.
I have this GPS too. I also bought the ecoRoute HD Vehicle Diagnostics Communicator. The ecoRoute plugs into the OBD port under the dash, and communicates with the gps with Bluetooth. It makes the gps display many things that a regular gps could never do. You can also reset the Check Engine Light with the gps, and ecoRoute.
The traffic seldom displays accurately. When there is heavy traffic, the gps gives a green signal, and says yellow or red when traffic is okay. Sometimes it is right, but it cant be trusted.
I just updated my maps a week ago. The map updates install easily. Just log in on Garmin's site, and hook up the gps to your computer with a USB cable, and follow prompts. It helps to have a pretty fast internet connection, because the map update is rather large. I had to install a micro SD card in the slot to accept the new update. If you dont have a SD card, you wont get the full map because the internal storage is not large enough anymore. I have updated my maps a few times before and it fit without the card. After installing the new maps, it told me not to remove the card, because the gps wont work without it anymore.
