#1 - W stands for wide. This is the wide screen edition of the 200 series.

I like my garmin nuvi, and though I don't have the wide screen version, I've used other people's wide screen ones and they're quite nice.

I keep hearing that garmin is so much better than Tom Tom, but I'm just not convinced. I find my TomTom has a much better interface and I am extrememly impressed by the map updates they provide. I have had zero problems with it. Anyone have other thoughts?

I have tried a TomTom and Navigon. Navigon serves more than the purpose for the price you pay.. TomTom and Garmin are over-priced just for their names... I heard that Navigon has a good market share for OE GPS systems in new cars.. I would strongly recommend Navigon and save some bucks..

I have a Garmin and my dad has a TomTom and to be honest there really isn't much of a difference, sure the Garmin can play mp3s, but as for the gps end of it, they are both about the same to use, both with same features(poi etc), I have to agree you pay more for the name.
