Probably one of the best entry-level GPS systems, although I've seen this for less a couple times. Not a bad price, just not the best price for this device.

Garmin is a really good brand. I own the Nuvi 660 and love it. I've compared it to my friends TomTom, and it is no match for my Garmin.

Are we REALLY that incapable of finding our destination without turn-by-turn directions? They are handy for vacations and perhaps if you just feel like wandering around, but with the price of gas who does that anymore?

These are for people who get lost going to the bathroom, and want to know where they left the cheese-wiz at.
Good, heavy paper bound map book (not the fold-out crap): $5.00. Learning to read a map: priceless. Never runs out of power, either.

      good idea #4.
#7 a GPS is not for wandering around, it is for finding a destination. So you actually use less gas than you might if you made some wrong turns. They are good for going somewhere you have never been or on vacation. A Garmin Nuvi saved my sanity in the UK.
The speed limit warning can also save you from a ticket that costs more than this GPS.

garmin nuvi is much better than tomtom IMO.

Anyone know where I can find a listing of units that have the speed limit function? (like the old mio c310x)?

      #7 & #8

This is for people who TRAVEL. get it?

because driving around at nite in a major bacon-lust area with a folded out map is so much better!!!

I'll be in 3 major cities in the next coupla weeks. So buy a map book for each city??? still got your cassette tapes with that map book???

I was one of those people who didn't think I would need a gps. Once I had it, it works great for me. No need to print out maps before I go to unfamilar places.

The drawback of this model is its slow bootup.

I was denied at Best Buy using the $50 Garmin coupon (for reward zone members, just do a search) with the price match. Didn't put up a huge fight, but they weren't going to price match and honor the coupon at the same time.

Garmin nuvi line is by far the best on the market. I have a nuvi 350 and it is great. Don't waste your money on a TomTom, that would be DumbDumb.
