Very nice deal - I picked one of these up for $97 on VF last year, and this is the first time I've seen them go for less than that. Of course, the Google / Droid GPS maps announcement hasn't helped Garmin or Tomtom...

Just wait until more Chinese brands start hitting the market, and a unit like this will probably be less then $50 at places like Wal-Mart.

Don't know why a lot of the refurbished items mentioned on this site are not identified as such. This GPS is refurbished, which means most likely you're going to have to jump through a few hoops to update the map. I'm going through this right now with a refurbished nuvi 765T I bought from newegg. It's a bit of a hassle.

The reason, #5, is if we see a good price, we'll "click the link". If you see "refurb" in the ad, you pass it by. This is becoming an all too common trick happening here on this site, and I am getting tired of it. Click = Cash. No click, no cash.

I'm getting tired of it, too.

Never thought I'd say that. This site has been around a long time, and I was here very near the beginning, though I rarely post.

I assumed the proprietor here made money only on sales that resulted from clicking through his links. Didn't dawn on me that mere clicks put money in his pocket. Admittedly, he does post a few deals not advertised elsewhere, but on the whole I'm finding very few good deals here now. And even those I click through someone else's site because I earn cash back there.

This unit should be $100 new at this point - I picked this up about 15 months ago at BB for $100 using a $50 off coupon I found on Ben's. I think pricnig remains strong at this entry level point though since it's a lot of bang for the buck.

      I wouldn't go near a refurb.

The 205 is a very nice basic unit, especially at $100 new. Turn by turn directions, but no spoken street names - but I've never had a GPS with TTS, so I don't miss it. Initial sattelite location a bit slow, but seems fine after that, and actually seems to locate the sattelite much quicker if it's been used recently (e over the course of a few days on an out-of-town trip). Just used it on a 650 mile weekend wedding trip a couple weekends ago - it was flawless.
