Only problem mine has is it now can take around 5-10 minutes to acquire satellites when starting up, which is a pain when you're trying to find something in a hurry. Might just be a defect in mine that steadily got worse about 3 months of use.

#4, try resetting it. My parents' 205 was doing the same thing. Reset clears it right up.

#4 or you'd better contact Garmin to get an exchange. Its cost includes that right of yours. Help yourself and help us too.

The Nuvi 255w was the same price (before easy rebate) at Amazon. Why not step up to a text-to-speech functionality for approx. the same price? This isn't a deal.

I've been getting the same satellite response the last 2 months. Only thing is I'm using a Tomtom. Hope our satellite's aren't jacked up. Not that I could hop up there and fix'em, but just saying.
