The 205 does not speak street names (handy feature IMO.)
I would purchase a 255w instead, at amazon a new 255w is $149.99 or a refurbished one is $129.99 (refurb carries a 1 year warranty and includes a map update, same as new unit)
255w is much nicer anyways.
Text-To-Speech is very nice when in unfamiliar areas...Nice unit, but #1 is right, spend a little more.
I have been using my 255w for about a year now and would have to agree with all of the above, a great unit.
I've had my little Nuvi 205 for a few months now and love it. IMHO, but not all will agree obviously, that text-to-speech is overrated. It isn't a big deal to just glance at the screen here and there to see the street names. Just my .01.
Bought the refurb 255w from Amazon for $130. Looks and functions brand new.
255W includes Canada maps as well.
