I have one of these. Enormously useful.
I love mine too. Does everything I need. No reason to spend more.
The lifetime map updates are nice to have. This one only has the lifetime traffic updates, which are only available in big cities.
Agree. Very good device.
this is a very good post-BF price for this GPS. i already got an old nuvi. this deal is very tempting.
Lifetime map updates are overrated. Sure they made add roads but they don't usually take them away so it's not like the device is going to send you down a dead end. By the time enough roads are updated your device will be obsolete or not working anymore.
@#6: good posting.
Every map has errors. They're constantly being corrected. New roads are only a part of what an update includes.
Says "free lifetime traffic updates", is that any different than map updates? Sounds like it.
#9: yes, maps and traffic are 2 separate subscriptions. This one only has traffic, and in my experience it's been of minimal value on my units. The lifetime maps are of more value to me, given that I plan to hold on to my 1490lmt for 3+ years and they are constantly adding and tweaking maps and points of interest. Only thing that sucks about paying extra for the lifetime subscriptions is that it's false advertising - neither lifetime of unit nor lifetime of you - Garmin cancels it if you move to another unit, they determine the subscribed unit is too old, etc. And their privacy policy is frightening as hell, really abysmal, you "agree" to have Garmin spy on your every move and share that with whomever they choose!

#6, which "lifetime map update" are you talking about?
This thing has "free lifetime traffic updates."
This GPS is useful but I find it slower to calculate routes and turns. But its better than not having a gps. Its cheaper than Costco's sale price of 114.
