Starting to hate Garmin. Slow devices and outdated maps out of the box. I never liked my wife's Nuvi 360. It has 2009 maps and would still have errors in the maps for roads completed 3 years ago.
I have this unit and it works fine for my needs. I paid $130 2 years ago. The FM traffic is useless in the Boston area, but apparently works well in the DC area (my father in-law has the same unit). You typically get one free map upgrade when you register the device, so the outdated software should not be a concern. Please note that it does take a long time for the Maps to update; I suggest letting it run overnight.
