The, um, "Lifetime" traffic actually expires next year when MSN Direct goes off the air permanently. A subscription to another traffic provider costs $50 (NavTeq) or $60 (Clear Channel).
Incorrect #1...this doesn't use MSN for the free lifetime bit. This uses the state-sponsored radio transmissions (which update a bit slower...but work).
MSN Direct is the pay service, and you are correct that THAT is going off the air.
I have the widescreen version of this...works very well.
widescreen is +$50, is it worth it #2?
can i update/add maps to this model?
Thanks
Weird, a refurb from Tiger Direct. I thought they sold all their used stuff as new.

I think it's actually worth the 50...given you get a lot more screen real estate and visibility.
And yes, you can add/update.
